We are looking for a motivated intern (all genders) in the field of Sports Science for a period of six months to support the Head of Performance and the fitness coaches (all genders) of the men’s professional team in all aspects of player performance. The responsibilities include collecting, analyzing, and presenting performance data, as well as supporting training activities on and off the pitch and assisting in player monitoring. The internship reports directly to the Head of Performance.
Your playing position:
Data Collection & Analysis- You collect and analyze performance metrics, including GPS data (Statsport), heart rate data (First Beat), Vald Performance data (force plates and muscle tests), as well as wellness and training load information (Session RPE)
- You support the maintenance and updating of the central electronic fitness and medical database, ensuring compliance with GDPR and all data protection regulations
Training Support- During training sessions, you conduct live tracking and provide real-time feedback to the coaching staff
- You assist with and accompany individual fitness sessions – both on the pitch and in the gym
Departmental Support- You actively contribute to ongoing projects and take on additional responsibilities within the department
Your style of play:
- You are an enrolled student in Sports Science or a comparable field of study
- Ideally, you have already completed your Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science and are currently enrolled in a Master’s program
- You have a strong interest in high-performance sports, sports science, and football-specific strength and conditioning training – and you bring a strong passion for football
- You demonstrate a high level of self-reflection and are committed to continuously developing your identity as a sports scientist and strength & conditioning coach
- You already have practical experience with Vald Performance systems (force plates, muscle testing) or comparable systems
- You have experience working with GPS systems from Statsports or similar athlete tracking technologies
- You possess knowledge in data analysis and visualization – this is an advantage
- You are proficient in Microsoft Excel and use it for advanced data analysis and visualization
- You have experience with Power BI and can create dashboards and performance reports
- You have excellent communication and teamwork skills
- You are flexible – both during the week and on weekends
- You have the necessary work authorization to be employed in Germany
- You have excellent written and spoken English skills
- You hold a valid first aid certificate
- You possess a Class B driver’s license

Your match bonus:
